Laser skin resurfacing dramatically improves skin texture, skin tone, fine lines and removes sun spots. Dr. Keith Llewellyn offers laser skin resurfacing for men and women in Santa Barbara, Solvang, Ventura, Santa Maria, Santa Ynez, and the surrounding areas of California.
Lumenis® UltraPulse® CO2 fractionated laser skin resurfacing works by creating thousands of microscopic perforations in the skin which stimulate collagen and elastin fiber production. Because the skin between these perforations is unaffected, healing time is accelerated. Collagen and elastin production leads to skin tightening and improvement in fine lines, deep wrinkles, and skin tone. Skin texture and brown spots are also dramatically improved by the UltraPulse® laser. With SCAAR FX, the perforations are deeper, leading to more collagen stimulation and scar remodeling, which can greatly enhance the appearance of scars.
Pixel Perfect™ fractionated laser skin resurfacing creates thousands of superficial microscopic perforations in the skin which stimulates collagen and removes the unwanted signs aging on the surface of the skin. Pixel Perfect™ helps remove years of sun damage, stimulates collagen, improves fine lines and wrinkles, improves acne scars, tightens the skin, restores a smooth texture to your skin, removes brown spots and restores a radiance to your skin that you may not have seen in years. Because the skin in between these microscopic perforations is untouched and the perforations are very superficial (more superficial than Lumenis® Ultrapulse® CO2 laser skin resurfacing), patients heal very quickly and experience minimal discomfort.
The cost of laser skin resurfacing is provided during the consultation. We accept payment by cash and major credit card. More information is available on our financing page.
UltraPulse® CO2 fractionated laser resurfacing can produce dramatic results in a single treatment session. While results may be seen with a single treatment of Pixel Perfect™ fractionated laser skin resurfacing, optimal results are obtained over a series of treatments. Unlike old ablative laser resurfacing technology, deep chemical peels, and aggressive dermabrasion—which are very painful procedures, require long recovery times of a month or more, and frequently lead to scarring and hypopigmentation, the Lumenis® UltraPulse® CO2 fractionated laser resurfacing can have you back to your normal schedule within seven days of your treatment. Pixel Perfect™ laser resurfacing can have you back to your normal schedule in just three days. The benefits of laser resurfacing benefits include:
While stretch marks can not be removed, their appearance can be improved with laser treatments. Fractionated laser skin resurfacing stimulates new collagen to restructure the skin so stretch marks blend better with the surrounding skin. Vbeam® Perfecta laser may also be used to dramatically reduce the redness seen in newer stretch marks and improve their appearance.
To enhance your comfort during UltraPulse® CO2 fractionated laser resurfacing, both topical and sometimes oral medication(s) will be prescribed. UltraPulse® CO2 fractionated laser resurfacing can produce dramatic results in a single treatment session. Your skin’s appearance post procedure and healing time from this procedure varies depending on the treatment performed (Active FX, Deep FX, Total FX, SCAAR FX) and the site upon which it is performed. For most patients, peeling and crusting has resolved and skin erythema (redness) has improved by seven to 10 days post procedure. At this point, the skin still has some healing redness (pink) that fades over the next several weeks and may be covered with makeup. You will likely see dramatic improvement in your skin by seven to 10 days post procedure. Improvements will continue over the next two years as your body continues to produce more collagen and elastin.
With Pixel Perfect™ fractionated laser skin resurfacing, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the treatment area to ensure optimal comfort during the procedure. Following your laser treatment, your skin will feel warm to touch and sting as though you have had a sun burn. Your skin will be red and covered with tiny crusty dots. By the third day post procedure, facial redness has diminished greatly, if not fully, for most patients and over the next four days the small crusty dots flake off.
