Laser Hair Removal
Questions & Answers
How many treatments will I need?
There is no way to predict exactly how many treatments you will need as it can vary by individual and treatment site. Most patients need between 4-8 treatments. Certain medical conditions, and hormone changes may influence hair growth and may require more treatments than average.
Our next-generation laser hair removal system, is an effective and permanent hair reduction solution that is simple and easy. The Harmony XL takes cutting-edge medical laser technology and combines it with the comfort and convenience of one of the most comfortable laser hair removal options available.
How It Helps
The in-motion technology uses AFT (Advanced Fluorescence Technology), to slowly heat the hair follicles to remove unwanted hair on just about any area of the body. This includes under your arms, face, neck, back, legs, shoulders, and bikini line. Harmony XL is specially designed to remove unwanted hair with fewer, shorter, more comfortable visits than ever before.
What to Expect
During your appointment the laser, the laser beam will pass through your skin to the tiny sacs (follicles) where hair growth originates. The intense heat from the laser beam damages the hair follicles, which inhibits hair growth. Some discomfort in the skin is possible, and you’ll likely feel a sensation of cold from the gel.
Treating a small area, such as the upper lip, might take only a few minutes while larger areas such as the back will take longer.
You may also experience hair shedding in the first few days and weeks following your treatment. This can sometimes be mistaken for hair regrowth.
How to Prepare
Prior to your Laser Hair removal appointment you need to limit waxing, plucking and electrolysis for six weeks before your treatment. Laser Hair removal targets the hairs’ roots, which are temporarily removed by waxing or plucking, therefore making the laser less effective.
You should also avoid sun exposure and self tanners for six weeks before and after treatment.
You might notice redness and swelling, especially around the hair follicles for the first few hours after laser hair removal. This, along with any discomfort may be soothed with cool compresses.
After laser hair removal, avoid sun exposure — both natural sunlight and tanning beds. When your skin has healed, use sunscreen whenever you’re in the sun.
