Questions & Answers
I'm interested in a filler but, i'm not sure which one is right for me?
Please call our office and schedule a complimentary consultation with our aesthetic nurse to discuss your concerns and which treatment may work best for you.
Will I bruise?
Bruising around the mouth and nose area is quite common after any injection. It is best to avoid aspirin (unless prescribed by your doctor), fish oil supplements and alcohol one week prior to your treatment. If bruising does occur, we recommend Arnica, which is available in a natural cream and pill formulation. Many of our patients feel is helps with swelling and bruising. If bruising develops, it can take 1-2 weeks to resolve.
How many syringes will I need?
It is difficult to tell, as every person varies. We recommend scheduling a complimentary consultation with our aesthetic nurse to establish a treatment plan that fits your goals and budget.
How long will the filler last?
Juvederm filler can last between 6-8 months
Keith Llewellyn MD and our Aesthetic Nurse use many different dermal fillers to soften facial lines and restore volume with natural looking results.
How It Helps
Juvederm is a very smooth gel composed of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring hydrating substance found in our skin. As we age and get exposed to the sun, our naturally occurring hyaluronic acid diminishes. This results in loss of volume of the skin and the formation of lines and deeper facial folds. By using Juvederm, we are simply replacing what you have lost over time to restore your skin’s volume and soften your facial lines and wrinkles. Juvederm has a very natural and comfortable feel when placed in the dermal layer of the skin. To further enhance the comfort of the injections, Juvederm XC has lidocaine, an anesthetic, mixed into the syringe as well.

Arnica supplements have been shown to reduce discomfort, bruising and swelling from injectable procedures. Arnica pills may be started the day before or the day of treatment and should be continued until bruising has resolved
